Beacon Mutual is pleased to offer webinars during the summer months for the convenience of our policyholders and clients during the coronavirus pandemic. Our webinars focus on general workers’ compensation issues, ergonomic awareness and training, and many workplace safety topics to help you prevent and control claims.
Beacon is offering several new courses this summer!
Heat Illness Prevention: To help you minimize the risk of heat illness at your place of business, this course is designed to provide an overview of various types of heat illnesses, immediate treatment and response, the fundamentals of a strong heat acclimatization plan and guidelines for limiting activities to account for changing environmental conditions and other contributing risk factors. This Heat Illness Prevention webinar was adapted from materials developed by the US Department of Labor and is appropriate for both supervisory and non-supervisory employees.
Safe Patient Handling for Caregivers: The State of Rhode Island established the Safe Patient Handling Act in 2006. This law requires hospitals and nursing facilities to developed programs with the goal of reducing manual lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and residents. Using the OSHA and RI Safe Patient Handling outlines, along with other sound ergonomic principles, this webinar will investigate several key components that go into developing a comprehensive safe patient movement program.
