Remote Safety Services

In light of the necessary social distancing, Beacon’s loss prevention services are now totally online. We understand the need for us to be proactive and adapt to today’s restricted work environment to ensure an uninterrupted delivery of loss prevention services to policyholders and clients.

Beacon Mutual Loss Prevention Training and Services

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Beacon Mutual is temporarily unable to deliver in-person loss prevention services or host instructor based safety seminars at the Beacon Training Center. Like every Rhode Island employer, the safety of our employees is paramount and protecting you, our policyholders, is of the utmost importance. Beacon will continue to evaluate the situation and adhere to the directions and guidance being given to all places of business by the governor and State of Rhode Island. We hope that you will visit beaconmutual.com to take advantage of many of the online safety, training and COVID-19 resources available on the site.

Beacon’s loss prevention department is fully capable of conducting remote work station and office work station assessments. Live safety and ergonomic training is being conducted using video meeting and conferencing software. Webinars are being conducted on most every seminar topic listed on the Beacon seminar schedule. In addition to the services delivered by our loss prevention staff, Beacon has long offered free and unlimited online training on more than 100 safety topics via the Beacon Online University.

Beacon Mutual Offers Two Online OSHA 10-Hour Courses

Beacon is pleased to announce that we are partnering with Advance Online Solutions, an OSHA authorized online Outreach Training provider, to offer free OSHA 10 Hour online training to policyholders. Advance Online was the first to offer the Web-based OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety course accepted by OSHA for issuing a US DOL OSHA 10 card.

Once a student registers for an OSHA 10 class on our web site, they will receive a confirmation email. Within 3 business days, a second email will be sent to the registrant directly from Advance Online Solutions (AOS). The second email, from AOS, will contain each registrant’s unique log in credentials.

Students have 60 days to complete the course from the date of first log in. Each student is assigned an authorized OSHA outreach trainer and students are able to direct questions to and interact with their assigned outreach trainer. Students may opt to have the system narrate each slide. There are learning assessments at the end of each lesson in the course and a final exam at the conclusion of the course. Passing grades are 70%. Upon completion of the course and achieving a passing grade on each section of the course and on the final exam, students will receive a certificate of completion and a US DOL OSHA 10-Hour card. Learn more and register for Online OSHA 12-Hour training.

The Beacon loss prevention staff is actively reaching out to policyholders, to review and promote the growing list of remote safety and ergonomic  services available to policyholders. Feel free to call your loss prevention consultant at any time to review and/or request remote services or email: BeaconLP@beaconmutual.com
