Hosted by Beacon Mutual as the event's community partner, the gathering provided an opportunity to recognize the individuals, businesses, and organizations that have helped advance the Foundation's mission while highlighting the difference those efforts continue to make for local children and families.
Founded by Jill Fearons, Friends of Jack Foundation was created to support families facing the challenges that come with childhood illness and injury. Today, the organization helps improve the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of children throughout the region through a variety of programs and partnerships.
Its impact can be seen in many ways, from funding Child Life Specialist services at St. Luke's Hospital and supporting pediatric healthcare programs to providing Therapy Cars for young patients and distributing Hero Bear kits that offer comfort during difficult moments.
The evening served as both a celebration and a thank you to the donors and supporters who make these initiatives possible.
"Having the opportunity to gather at the New Bedford Whaling Museum and personally thank so many of the people who make our work possible was incredibly meaningful. Beacon Mutual did much more than host an event. They helped us strengthen relationships, share the real impact of our programs, and remind our supporters that every donation ultimately reaches a child or family here in our community," said Jill Fearons, Founder and President of Friends of Jack Foundation.
As part of the event, Beacon Mutual presented Friends of Jack Foundation with a $3,000 donation to support its mission. Guests also participated in a basket raffle, with proceeds benefiting the Foundation's programs and services.
The celebration also reflected a growing partnership between Beacon Mutual and Friends of Jack Foundation.
Earlier this year, 29 Beacon employees volunteered to assemble 1,250 Hero Bear kits that will be distributed through hospitals, schools, public safety agencies, and community organizations to children facing difficult circumstances.
