Beacon’s Thanksgiving: Gratitude & Giving Back

Written by Beacon Mutual | 11/26/24 8:03 PM

As Thanksgiving approaches, we at Beacon Mutual reflect on what matters most—our connections with the people and communities we serve. We are deeply grateful for the trust of our policyholders, the partnership of our agents, and the support of the local community. These relationships inspire us to stay true to our vision of providing safety, stability, and service.

At Beacon, we are guided by our Vision and Values. From focusing on doing the right thing to embracing inclusion, every action we take is aimed at improving lives. Together, we can ensure a brighter, safer future for all.

These values also drive the work of The Beacon Foundation, established in 2021 to support charitable organizations that enhance the quality of life in our community. Through the Foundation, we provide donations to nonprofits across Rhode Island, ranging from emergency relief programs to scholarships for children of injured workers.

Giving back is woven into the fabric of who we are at Beacon. This November, The Beacon Foundation proudly supported several local organizations making a difference, including:

  • RI Community Food Bank
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center
  • Farm Fresh Rhode Island
  • City of Warwick Neighbors Helping Neighbors
  • Crossroads Rhode Island
  • Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island
  • Gregg’s Giving Tree

In the spirit of the season, our managers recently volunteered their time at the RI Community Food Bank, sorting donations during one of their busiest times of the year. Another group of Beacon employees is excited to continue this tradition of service later this week.

Shannon Broadbent, Beacon’s VP of Human Resources, shared, "It's inspiring to see our team come together to support such an essential organization. Volunteering is not just an act of giving—it’s a reflection of Beacon’s values in action, reinforcing our commitment to strengthening our community.”

President and CEO Brian Spero added, "Thanksgiving is a time to express gratitude, and we are incredibly thankful for the trust our policyholders and agent partners place in us. Through initiatives like The Beacon Foundation and volunteer efforts, we aim to honor that trust by giving back to the communities that support us.”

As you gather with loved ones this holiday, we encourage you to reflect on the connections that matter most. At Beacon, we remain committed to strengthening these connections every day.

From our family to yours, we wish you a happy, safe, and fulfilling Thanksgiving!
