Beacon Mutual was recognized with an Exemplary Worksite Health Award from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) and the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce for the eighth consecutive year!
Beacon Mutual was honored among 47 Rhode Island-based companies celebrated for outstanding programs that foster employee health and well-being. “We are thrilled to receive this award as it reinforces Beacon’s commitment to supporting our employees’ well-being—not just as a benefit, but as an integral part of their personal and professional lives,” said Shannon Broadbent, Vice President of Human Resources at Beacon Mutual.
In 2024, Beacon Mutual continued its well-being incentive plan through Virgin Pulse, allowing employees to earn points for maintaining healthy habits, tracking steps, engaging in physical activity, and participating in fun step challenges with co-workers. These points can be redeemed for gift cards of up to $75 each quarter.
“Employee engagement with the Virgin Pulse program has continued to exceed our expectations," Broadbent added. "Our team members are staying active, healthy, and motivated while earning rewards. We're excited to continue this program and explore new ways to promote workplace wellness into 2025."

2024 marks the 8th consecutive year that Beacon has received a Worksite Health Award. Since the awards’ inception in 1995, they have honored Rhode Island businesses that demonstrate exceptional health and wellness programs and workplace policies that promote health.
