2023 Lighthouse Award Winners Announced

We are excited to announce the recipients of the 2023 Beacon Mutual Lighthouse Award for Agency Excellence, honoring six exceptional independent insurance agencies. Beacon Mutual Insurance Company is proud to collaborate with these local agencies and applauds their extraordinary efforts in delivering outstanding workers' compensation insurance coverage to the communities of Southern New England.

These agencies have demonstrated significant growth in profitable premiums, excelled in acquiring new business, and achieved outstanding retention rates. Additionally, they have shown steadfast loyalty to Beacon through their high-quality submissions and unwavering support for policyholders in claims, loss prevention, underwriting, and premium audits. They have also been invaluable in providing market insights and serving the communities of Southern New England.

As part of this award program, winning agencies selected seven charities to receive a total of $6,000 from Beacon Mutual as part of our commitment to the community. We are proud to be able to contribute to support the following local charities:

Amego Inc. - Amego is committed to supporting people living with autism and other developmental disabilities at home, school, work, and as members of their families and communities.
Child & Family Service of Newport County - Child & Family is a private, nonprofit organization working every day to help the most vulnerable children, families, and seniors across Rhode Island since 1866.
Cranston High School East Baseball Program - The Cranston High School East Baseball Program is a competitive and dedicated team known for its strong tradition of excellence and commitment to developing talented student-athletes from Cranston, RI.
CJR Memorial Fund - Raising funds for and awarding a scholarship to a senior graduating from Bellows Free Academy, St Albans in memory of Connor Jeffrey Roberts, and the support of related activities consistent with the goals of the corporation.
Dave's Fresh Marketplace Charitable Fund - The Dave's Fresh Marketplace Charitable Fund creates a charitable fund that provides support for individuals with medical, educational and other charitable needs. The entity provides grants to individuals for medical, educational and other charitable needs. It also hosts a golf tournament to fundraise money to support its exempt purpose.
Disabled American Veterans - Disabled American Veterans are dedicated to a single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. We accomplish this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
Friends of Duke Rescue Co - Friends of Duke Rescue’s mission is to care and advocate for animals in need through sheltering, adoption, education, activism in animal welfare legislation, spay/neuter and outreach that builds an involved, compassionate community.
